Key Accomplishments

• Lead counsel responsible for management of three long-term complex employment practices cases before Alabama federal courts involving the filing of thousands of court documents.
• Lead counsel in dozens of federal and state appeals and several U. S. Supreme Court proceedings including successful oral argument before the Supreme Court of the United States resulting in a major well-publicized decision.
• Lead outside counsel for over 20 years representing large New York municipality in defense of housing and school desegregation proceedings before New York federal district court, defense of section 1983 litigation and defense of Department of Justice investigation of police practices.
• Negotiated all transactional agreements for four court ordered housing projects on behalf of New York municipality and oversight of projects to completion. Oversight of legal issues for planning of extensive community redevelopment projects, including one under HOPE VI federal housing initiative.
• Testimony before U.S. Senate and House subcommittees considering pending legislation governing employment practices.
• Developed and managed the creation of hundreds of mixed-use condominium units in Florida including planning, banking relationships, oversight of construction process, sales closings and association management through turnover.
• General counsel for wind energy developer with projects in multiple states including 250mw late stage fully permitted project.
